Khokhar Solicitors is a Solicitors Law Firm Specialist in multi area of law in England & Wales we are looking for trainees.

We are friendly but hard working team, very dedicated and most importantly very passionate about our work.

The ideal candidate we are seeking may be potentially considered for a permanent position subject to satisfactory progress. Our structured two-year Recognised Training Period Programme focuses on building the technical and business skills that are fundamental for trainees to become a successful solicitor. The number and variety of seats available across our office gives the opportunity to gain a real breadth and depth of work during the training contract, meaning that the trainee would do not feel pressured to select an area of specialism too early in their  career.

Structure of Training
The Trainees will spend time in different practice areas and they will be encouraged to spend time in each of different departments. That said, we are flexible, and will work with them to tailor their training contract to suit their preferences, alongside the needs of the business.  The trainee will be allocated a supervisor who will support, encourage and supervise the trainee during his/her seat with them.  The Trainees will also have access to a 'buddy' who will guide them through their training contract and help them feel at home from day one.  

The level of responsibility given to our trainees is high. Trainees will be running their own files, working in a team on bigger transactions and experiencing client contact on the phone and in meetings, making them an integral part of the team, from very early on.

We recruit to retain and view our trainees as our future Associates, and as such we are dedicated to our trainees' successful development. As well as supporting you through their  PSC exams, they  will also receive training on financial and business awareness, how to make the most of your training contract, communication and people skills, and marketing and networking. Once their training contract is complete, they will continue to have access to be spoke development programmes and opportunities at every stage of their career.

Our Trainee Development Programme will offer you:

  • A training contract based in South West London.
  • Coaching and support on a one-to-one basis in relation to develop skills in legal field. 
  • A structured internal development programme aimed at developing the trainee to become a fully- rounded professional
  • Opportunities to attend various legal events outside the firm
  • Opportunity to be part of a sector group where you will have responsibility for cross-selling, generating business development ideas and hosting/attending relevant events

SOAS Law Society Training Contract Document

The SOAS Law Society has prepared a document containing details of most if not all training contracts (2020 start date), including information about deadlines, application processes, academic requirements etc. Having prepared a similar document detailing the summer deadlines, we received positive feedback and decided to produce an updated version for this year's applicants.

SOAS Exclusive Dinner with Travers Smith LLP + Additional Note Regarding the Application Process

The SOAS Law Society is holding an exclusive dinner with Travers Smith LLP, a leading corporate, financial and commercial law firm. A select few of you will be able to network with its trainees and learn more about the firm in preparation for Vacation Schemes and Training Contracts applications.

The dinner will consist of a 3 course meal and will take place at The Refinery in New Street Square on the 22nd November. More information will be released in the weeks leading up to the event.

Additional Note:
We have received a couple of queries regarding the Exclusive Dinner with Travers Smith LLP. We would like to address each in turn in order to make the process as accessible as possible:


1. Bias

Please be assured that in the interest of the Law Society, we intend to accept those candidates who have shown the most interest in Travers Smith. As such, we will select students accordingly with this criteria in mind. Additionally, your application will be reviewed by members of the Law Society who are not applying to the dinner.

2. Privacy

Only members of the Law Society who will be reviewing your application will have access to your application, and these same members will not be applying for the opportunity themselves. What the reviewing panel will be focusing on is not the details of your grades, rather, the commitment and interest you have shown in the firm and how you hope to use this dinner as an opportunity to invest further into your prospective career with the firm.

3. Requisites of the Application Process

If you are put off applying by the requisites of the process (CV and Cover Letter), please note that it allows us to select you based on your demonstrated interest in the firm rather than on factors such as your academic achievement. Additionally, doing your research on the firm will help you engage far more in conversation during the dinner.
