Volunteering opportunities in Greece with Advocates Abroad

Please find below a message from Jalal:

"I am currently taking a 1 year sabbatical and working on an informal education/community project for refugees and asylum seekers in Northern Greece with which I've been involved on and off for a number of years now. We have a community cafeteria in North Greece, and one of the services we facilitate is legal advice through an excellent organisation called Advocates Abroad. They send volunteers who are either qualified lawyers or law students to run drop-in clinics in our cafeteria as well as other locations in the region.

I know they are currently short of volunteers, and I thought I would get in touch in case you think some of your students might be interested in volunteering with them. The work is demanding, but doubtless provides a unique insight into the challenges stemming from current legal framework for asylum in Europe.

If you would like an introduction to somebody in Advocates Abroad to discuss further, just let me know and I'd be happy to oblige.

If there are students who are interested in working in our project in a teaching or community work capacity, feel free to put them in touch with me."
