Pro Bono Community is an organisation offering an interesting opportunity for students to volunteer within social welfare areas of law. The opportunity is a training and volunteering scheme where students are provided with training and then a volunteering placement is coordinated for them to attend at a law centre of advice agency. Placements are across a range of agencies such as Shelter, South West London Law Centres, and various Citizens Advice Bureaus.
The opportunity is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from any discipline although they are targeting those studying law.
They require a commitment of two days of training and generally the placements require at least 1 day a week for a period of 3 months.
