In light of some recent technical issues with our website, which may have prevented you from accessing our guidelines, we have extended the deadline for our Annual Student Essay Competition to Friday 22nd MARCH 2019.
The title this year is:
“Explain the potential significance of granting legal personhood to animals in the UK”
The winning entrants will receive:
1st prize - Published article in The UK Journal of Animal Law and £150 book vouchers;
2nd prize - £70 book vouchers;
3rd prize - £30 book vouchers.
This is a fantastic opportunity to explore an area of law that is rarely taught on law courses and to contribute to the highly topical debate about granting personhood to animals. It also offers the winner the chance to have their work published in our Journal, which is the UK's only academic journal dedicated to the niche but growing field of animal law!
We welcome entries from all students with a passion for animal law at any stage of their studies and from any discipline. You can find all of the Competition guidelines here.
