Presentation on Artificial Intelligence by ULaw alumnus Jacob Turner (6 Feb)

The University of Law invites you to their presentation on Artificial Intelligence by ULaw alumnus Jacob Turner.

The presentation will take place on Wednesday 6 February from 5:45pm in TR 31-35 at our London Moorgate Campus.

This presentation is a an opportunity to learn about some of the most important issues relating to Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the practice of law in the 21st Century. These changes will affect every area of law and this talk will be a valuable opportunity to become more familiar with one of the key disruptors to the future of our profession.

Jacob Turner will discuss his book Robot Rules: Regulating Artificial Intelligence in which he argues that AI is unlike any previous technology, owing to its ability to take decisions independently and unpredictably.
This gives rise to three issues:
Responsibility - who is liable if AI causes harm?
Rights - are there pragmatic grounds for giving rights to robots?
Ethics - how should AI make choices and are there any decisions it should not take?
