Sonia Anwar Ahmed Martinez - Careers Officer

How has being on the committee of the Law Society benefited you?

There was a great sense of community among the members of the Law Society, which made the experience overall enjoyable. As the Careers Officer specifically, I gained a variety of transferable skills including organisational and communication skills.

What was the most enjoyable part of the experience?

he most enjoyable part of the experience was seeing projects come together and efforts materialising into events, competitions, and so on.

What advice would you give to current Law students?

Seize interesting opportunities available inside and outside of university, provided they can fit into your schedule without compromising your academics (e.g society leadership positions, competitions, sports, etc). It introduces you to new interests thereby guiding your future pursuits and allows you to build on your extra-curricular profile. In short, really put yourself out there.

What is life after SOAS like for you?

I am currently studying Modern Standard Arabic in Cairo, Egypt.
